Graphics at MIA PDF Print E-mail

The Museum of Inuit Art is pleased to operate Canada's first retail gallery dedicated to showcasing original prints by Inuit artists.  The opening of the MIA Graphics Gallery represents a significant step forward in fullfilling the museum's vision of introducing Inuit art to a wider audience - in both the museum and retails settings.

Each Inuit print at the MIA Graphics Gallery is handmade, in limited editions numbering between 30 to 50 prints. Often more than one artist will have worked on producing the print, in a collaborative process between graphic designer and printmaker.

The quality of artworks and educational focus serve to make the gallery an extension of the museum, where visitors can see the practical side of the Inuit art economy at work; with all profits going to support cultural, educational and acquisition programs at the Museum.

Many of the prints in the MIA Graphics collection are available both framed and unframed. All unframed works are packed in tubes and can be safely carried or shipped worldwide. The collection can be viewed online at www.miagallery.ca
